Torneo Apertura third round kick off times

By Sam Kelly (sam@theenganche.com)

'Where's my week gone?!' we can hear you inwardly asking. Don't worry - you've not been in a coma since Monday. Due to Saturday's World Cup qualifiers (notably that between Argentina and Brazil in Rosario) the Argentine FA have moved the third round of the Torneo Apertura to midweek. Rosario Central vs River Plate has been postponed until next Tuesday, so as to avoid Cristian Fabbiani and company making a mess of the pitch prior to señores Messi, Agüero, Tevez and Heinze showing off their silky skills.

Estudiantes and Vélez are both seeking to continue their 100% records in the league. Estudiantes will have the tougher time of the two for that - they travel to San Lorenzo on Wednesday afternoon. League champions Vélez, meanwhile, visit Gimnasia La Plata on Friday. The two Rosario clubs are the only others to have won both of their opening matches. Central will by gunning for River next week, whilst Newell's visit La Bombonera on Thursday. Wednesday afternoon's round-opening match in Sarandí, meanwhile, could be crucial in the relgation promedio - Racing sit just above the playoff places whilst Arsenal are only four points above their rivals, and could be dragged right into the thick of the battle if Ricardo Caruso Lombardi's men can record a first win of the season.

All these kick off times are local - add four hours for British Summer Time.
